Melamine resin foam - a true all-rounder in the field of plastic foam

As the name suggests, the foam is made of melamine resin. To be more precise, it is melamine-formaldehyde condensation resin, whose basic materials are melamine and formaldehyde. The resin is an aminoplastic with the thermosetting properties typical of this type of plastic. Thermosets are plastics that cannot be deformed by heating or other means after curing. The foaming of the melamine resin produces a foam with a meshed open-cell structure. It is characterized by filigree meshing with slender, flexible webs.

Melamine resin foam is characterized by its good thermal and sound insulation properties as well as its low flammability. Hanno offers its melamine resin foam products under the name Hanno-Tect. Hanno-Tect foams are used in automotive construction, in refrigeration and air conditioning technology, in room acoustics applications and in numerous other areas.
