Sustainability & compliance
Thinking for tomorrow today
As a globally operating medium-sized company, we fulfil comprehensive compliance and corporate social responsibility (CSR). We consider waste avoidance and disposal as well as the careful use of energy and all resources to be our obligation and motivation to act. The safe handling of our materials serves the health of our employees and the environment.
Tested eco-balance
We take sustainability and environmental protection into account in the further and new development of products and production processes and do not shy away from high R&D and subsequent testing costs for energy-efficient, sustainable products. Many of our tested products are certified in accordance with EMICODE "EC1PLUS" guidelines and are therefore considered "very low emission". This means we can guarantee our customers that these products are free from hazardous substances in the indoor air. We offer manufacturer declarations for building certifications in accordance with LEED and DGNB. Our studies on the passive house suitability of certain energy-efficient products are highly regarded. Life cycle assessments exist for individual specific product areas or raw materials on the part of raw material manufacturers or as co-owner of the PDR company for the recycling of PU cans and this life cycle assessment. We subject ourselves to the strict testing criteria and voluntary commitments of renowned institutes. We want to continue our holistic approach to sustainability. Regardless of whether it is applications that have been tried and tested over many years or new modern products with an orientation towards the "Lifestyle of Health and Sustainability" (LOHAS) aspects for a sustainable lifestyle - combined with an affinity for technology and quality awareness.
Certified quality and environmental management
Our compliance management includes our own structured quality management system in accordance with IATF 16949 and DIN ISO 9001 with a quality management officer as well as an environmental management system (certified in accordance with ISO 14001) and certification in accordance with ÖKOPROFIT (Ecological Project for Integrated Environmental Technology). It also includes energy management (ISO 50001 - certification for HANNO not applicable) and occupational safety (no OSHAS18001 certification) and is monitored by a compliance officer.
Guidelines and voluntary commitments
Long-standing corporate guidelines and employee guidelines demonstrate our voluntary commitments and are combined with socially recognised principles (long-term corporate preservation, sustainability in strategic and operational business, creation of our own indicators of sustainable corporate governance, orientation towards values and compliance with rules as well as implementation of the basic principles of sustainable corporate governance: solidarity, transparency, risk management) in order to integrate social and environmental concerns into our activities and our interaction with stakeholders on a voluntary basis.
Securing our location and our products "Made in Germany" are values for our employees, shareholders and customers. We are committed to the basic values and principles of the UN Global Compact, similar to ISO 26000, which we document through our membership of the German Textile+Fashion Confederation with the published "Code of Conduct" and our membership of the German Foamed Plastics Association (FSK) with the "Compliance and Code of Conduct of the Polyurethane and Foamed Plastics Industry" and which can be viewed under the relevant links.
Research & Development
Highest quality and safety are standard for us
Reliability and a state-of-the-art quality management system offer our customers the necessary safety when dealing with our products, in addition to warranties and product liability. Regular in-house and externally monitored quality controls and tests that go far beyond the required standard, as well as high-quality, non-blended base materials, guarantee a consistently high level of quality for all Hanno products.
Occupational safety and handling hazardous substances
Health and safety are our top priority. We therefore keep our employees up to date with regular training courses, including on handling hazardous substances such as diisocyanates. We also inform our customers about the necessary precautionary measures and training programmes. Training courses on handling diisocyanates are available here: https://www.fsk-training.de/
